Job SummarySeidel Schroeder seeks a dedicated Senior Tax Associate to support senior leaders, ensuring exceptional service and proactive client care.
Duties/Responsibilities- Assume full responsibility for complex tax engagements.
- Train and supervise associates assigned to the engagement.
- Gain in-depth exposure to a variety of entities and industries.
- Research technical issues as they arise.
- Exercise professional judgment related to technical issues if needed.
- Develop an area of expertise and eventually review tax returns in their area of expertise.
- Make tax adjustments to client’s financial statements and prepare supporting work papers for tax return.
- Have an understanding of making M-1 and M-3 adjustments.
- Possess knowledge or at least a broad understanding of special allocations and basis tracking.
- Assist with quarterly and annual tax planning, projections, and estimated tax calculations.
- Assist in managing client expectations, deadlines, and deliverables.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and proactively resolve issues.
- Able to prepare tax information submitted by client for completeness.
- Experience preparing personal, Corporate, S-Corp, Partnership, and Trust returns that are simple to moderately complex.
- Possess knowledge of tax regulations in order to answer client’s questions that may arise under supervision.
- Able to perform such other duties as may be assigned.
- Able to perform tax research projects requiring some expertise.
- Efficient in Quick Books Online and Desktop.
- Demonstrates strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- 2-3+ years of tax preparation experience in a public accounting environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a degree in another discipline with various course works in taxes and accounting, through intermediate level preferred.
- Experience working in a professional office is preferred but not required.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States of America.
- Ability to work overtime during certain seasonal periods.
This role may entail local travel between Seidel Schroder locations.
