Closing Date: Until Filled Work Schedule: Intermittent (0-19 hours/week)

Position: Bartender Salary: $23.43/hour

Location/Unit: MWR Kapolei Barbers Point

Responsibilities
  • Mix and serve alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
  • Prepare a variety of alcoholic drinks by selecting proper premix and garnish; knowledge of various mixed drinks is required.
  • Serve patrons directly or deliver to wait staff. Receive payment, operate cash register, and make and return change. May prepare documentation for cash funds accountability.
  • Set up bar for operation; ensure bar is presentable and sanitary. Maintain adequate stock levels and organize storeroom/work area for easy access.
  • Maintain a neat and clean work area; wash bar equipment, glassware, and utensils following proper sanitation procedures. Stock service bars and assist higher level bartender as needed.
  • Complete required training in serving alcohol beverages; annual local refresher training required and documented.
  • Identify persons who are unruly or intoxicated, resolve the problem, or seek assistance per established procedures.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and standards; use safety equipment and observe safe work procedures; promptly report hazards, injuries, or property damage to the supervisor.
  • Must have working knowledge of sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications: Experience mixing alcoholic beverages for retail sale. Completion of a bartender’s training school may be substituted for the required experience.
  • Experience recognizing intoxicated or unruly patrons and resolving the problem or seeking assistance.
  • Experience following proper cash handling procedures.
  • Must be able to stoop, stand, and walk for long periods. Physically able to frequently lift objects weighing 5 to 10 pounds, pull/push 10 to 20 pounds, and occasionally lift up to and over 40 pounds.
  • Must meet the appropriate minimum age requirement for working with and/or serving alcoholic beverages.
Preferred
  • One year experience as a bartender.

  • Residency Requirements:
