Base pay rangePosition Information
Adjusts, tests, services, maintains and installs radio transmitters, receivers and other communications equipment in vehicles and permanent locations; designs, constructs, modifies and repairs radio equipment; and performs other related duties as required.

- Salary for the Honolulu Police Department: $4,766 - $5,800 per month (SR-19). Actual salary will be commensurate with applicable experience, pending approval.**

Minimum Qualification Requirements
At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.
Education Requirement
Equivalent to graduation from high school and successful completion of a two-year program in electronics technology from an accredited community college or technical school.
Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.
Verification Requirement :
You must submit evidence of your Bachelor's degree in order to be given credit. Please attach an electronic copy of your diploma and/or official transcript which shows the embossed seal or applicable FCE to your application. Or mail a photocopy of your documents to the following address:

Experience Requirement
Three (3) years of technical work experience involving the installation, maintenance, repair, and modification of radio communications or related equipment.
License Requirement
Possession of a valid driver's license (Type
3), prior to appointment.
Desirable:
Possession of a valid Federal Communications Commission General Radiotelephone Operator License is desirable. If you have a valid FCC General Radiotelephone Operator License, please attach an electronic copy of your FCC license to your application or submit a photocopy to:
