Job SummaryResponsible for the overall cleaning of guest rooms and bathrooms according to the standards set forth by the Palms Hotel & Spa.
Job Duties / Tasks / Responsibilities- Adhere to the daily room quota generally through various cleaning routines that include moving beds to clean over and underneath furniture; cleaning headboards, windows, mirrors, walls, a/c vents, lighting fixtures, doors, closets, curtains, dust, polishing/shine pictures, tables, lamps, and other surfaces in the room. Empty and clean all trash cans. Remove shower curtains; polish all bathroom fixtures, extra scrubbing for extraordinary clean guest rooms.
- Maintain and ensure the impeccable cleanliness of assigned guest rooms, bathrooms and hallways (front of rooms) including front door, by following assigned procedures for room cleaning.
- Make beds in accordance to the guidelines.
- Vacuum guest room carpet.
- Replace guest room amenities as necessary.
- Check and secure rooms.
- Communicate all cleaned rooms to the Housekeeping Office/Supervisor.
- Offer assistance to guests in a courteous manner and address/satisfy all guest requests as soon as possible, keeping supervisor informed of any special requests or circumstances.
- Ensure proper handling of guest personal items.
- Routinely check the working condition of lighting, plumbing, televisions, alarms, and thermostats of assigned guest rooms, and report all maintenance concerns/problems to the executive and/or assistant housekeeper as necessary.
- Communicate and inform supervisor of damaged or dirty furnishings in need of cleaning or fixtures in assigned areas in need of repair.
- Responsible for safe keeping of the Master Key.
- Maintain a neat and clean personal appearance at all times.
- Complete special projects as assigned.
- Education:
High school diploma or equivalent. - Experience:
Minimum of 6 months to 1 year of cleaning and/or housekeeping environment. - Must be able to stand and walk continuously throughout the shift.
- Must be able to stoop and bend.
- Must be able to lift up to 25‑50 lbs.
- Must be able to work with medium/heavy chemicals.
- Must be able to operate a vacuum cleaner.
