Job SummaryFood and Beverage Restaurant Hosts are the first hotel employees to interact with arriving guests in our restaurants (LT Steak & Seafood and The Alley). Hosts welcome guests by greeting them per The Betsy standards and resolve customer inquiries promptly and efficiently.
Responsibilities- Make reservations for guests, ensuring all required data is collected (date, time, party size, name, phone number, special occasion). Repeat reservation details back to the guest.
- Ensure all reservations are recorded in the hotel’s reservation system.
- Take accurate to‑go orders and input them into the POS system.
- Distribute reservations among all Servers fairly to maintain a balanced workload.
- Seat guests, hand them a clean menu, and introduce them to their Server.
- Confirm guest satisfaction before departure.
- Check the reservation system to prepare for the next meal period.
- Notify the Manager of any large parties or special requests.
- Place the “reserved” signs on tables when necessary.
- Understand daily kitchen specials for each shift.
- Answer the phone promptly and politely with a friendly yet professional tone.
- Answer any guest questions accurately, requiring knowledge of menu products, prices, and daily specials.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of all food and beverage menus, ingredients, preparation, serving methods, and pricing.
- Perform additional tasks as required by management.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Degree or certificate in hospitality management or related field preferred.
- Must speak, read, write, and understand English.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Professional and clear communication skills.
