Electrical Engineer IV

The City needs you to ensure that all professional electrical engineering work for water systems, and construction work for residential and commercial buildings meet the safety standards. All you need to do is perform difficult professional engineering work in reviewing and analyzing electrical designs, plans, and specifications for adequacy and compliance with provisions of the electrical code and departmental standards; and perform other related duties as required.

You will also ensure contractors have thoroughly performed all tasks to your high standards and may perform inspections on construction sites exposed to various hazards.

• Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Capital Projects Division Mechanical/Electrical Branch.
• Department of Facility Maintenance (DFM), Chief Engineer's Office, located at Kapolei Hale.

At time of application, you must be a citizen, national or permanent resident alien of the United States or a non-citizen eligible under federal law for unrestricted employment.

Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited four year college or university with a bachelor’s degree in an engineering specialty.

Education obtained outside of the United States must be comparable to a degree earned at a regionally-accredited college/university in the United States. In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

Three years of non-registered professional electrical engineering experience.

1. Possession of a valid license as a professional electrical engineer in the State of Hawaii. Applicants with a current out-of-state professional electrical engineer license must obtain their Hawaii license prior to appointment.

2. Possession of an appropriate valid driver’s license, as required.

Your score will be based on the quality, quantity, and/or recency of your education and experience. Failure to provide sufficient information may result in your application being rejected or your receiving a lower score.
