We connect high‑performing professionals with organizations that value people, performance, and'>
About the OpportunityWe’re partnering with a growing, family‑owned food manufacturer known for investing in innovative technology to improve the workplace for employees and support a healthy environment for the animals in their care. The organization operates a highly advanced processing operation and is in an active phase of growth—creating opportunities to build new capabilities with very little red tape.
This Vision Systems Developer role is newly created and highly impactful. The բառ focus is building a vision solution that can detect defects and reject product before it enters downstream processing, protecting quality and reducing waste. Two existing systems have been evaluated, but the business is looking to develop the right solution—with a target to have it running within 6‑12 months, and a long runway of projects beyond the initial build.
This role is ideal for someone who likes ownership: designing a solution, collaborating with automation/controls partners, and seeing your work show up in daily production.
What You’ll Do- Develop and implement machine vision solutions to detect defects and trigger automated rejection before downstream processing.
- Collaborate with camera hardware partners and internal automation/controls resources to integrate vision with equipment.
- Build and refine detection logic using production feedback to improve accuracy and reliability over time.
- Support commissioning and rollout with the goal of operational readiness within 6‑12 months.
- Partner cross‑functionally to ensure solutions are practical, safe, and supported long‑term.
You’re a builder and a problem‑solver—comfortable in a fast‑moving environment where growth creates complexity. You work well across departments, communicate clearly, and take pride in delivering something that works in the real world. You like places where good ideas get heard and decisions happen quickly.
Preferred Experience & Attributes- 4+ years of relevant experience developing vision systems or defect detection solutions.
- Strong coding skills in C++ and/or Python.
- Experience working with cameras, imaging hardware, and integrating vision with automated equipment.
- Food manufacturing experience is a plus, not required.
- No degree required.
This role directly protects quality by stopping defects early—before they become larger kaip downstream problems. You’ll help create a new capability with real operational impact, and you’ll do it in an environment where innovation is supported and execution moves quickly.
Reporting Structure- Reports to:
Director of Engineering & Continuous Improvement - Works closely with internal automation/controls resources
Unter the IT organization
- Onsite preferred 5 days/week; hybrid may be considered for the right fit.
