Job Details
This position is responsible for troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing equipment and company assets associated with pork processing while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Troubleshoot facility and equipment problems that occur in the day‑to‑day operations. Perform work that involves hydraulics, electrical, plumbing, conveyor maintenance, 3‑phase wiring, AC/CD control wiring, welding, and pneumatic systems. Set up, adjust, and break down production machinery.
Perform scheduled preventative maintenance duties. Complete daily reports and paperwork.
Work environments are wet and humid; temperatures range from 35 to 90+ degrees. The successful candidate must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job, including climbing ladders, working from elevated platforms, standing and walking on hard floors, and occasional lifting of up to 60 lbs. All shifts include Sunday work and overtime as scheduled.
RequirementsMust have a minimum of 1 year of mechanical work experience documented in the work history section of the application or be a graduate of an industrial maintenance training program (or a combination of employers if experience is at least 1 year). Proficiency in reading and writing, ability to complete on‑the‑job paperwork, and effective communication across all management levels are required.
Must be able to read and comprehend labels, numbers, and instructions, and communicate effectively.
Maintenance crews typically work 4‑5 days per week, with 2‑3 days off and will include shifts on Sundays and some major holidays when necessary; welding experience preferred. Must be available to work C shift (overnight). Effective 01‑02‑2025. Candidates who have previously worked for Tyson have a 180‑day rehire waiting period and a limit of 3 rehires.
