Lyons Salt is seeking a skilled Industrial Electrician to support and maintain the electrical infrastructure of our underground salt mining operation and surface plant. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in 3-phase systems, motor controls, and industrial troubleshooting, with the ability to safely install, repair, and maintain electrical equipment in a demanding and safety-critical environment.

This position plays a key role in ensuring equipment uptime, production efficiency, and compliance with MSHA regulations and NEC codes.

Key Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues involving motors, switches, transformers, lighting, and control systems.
• Install and maintain electrical circuits, fixtures, and appliances using tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, ohmmeters, and test lamps.
• Inspect, test, and document findings on power, lighting, communication, and signal circuits.
• Perform preventive maintenance on electrical systems and components.
• Connect and disconnect wiring to circuit breakers, transformers, and related components.
• Estimate time, labor, and materials required for repairs and installations.
• Procure parts and materials as needed for project completion.
• Ensure all work is performed in accordance with NEC, MSHA, and company safety standards.
• Communicate any safety concerns or equipment issues to management promptly.
• Perform daily inspections and maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Complete task training on all relevant equipment and machinery.

Qualifications

• Current Electrician License (Master or Journeyman) or equivalent years of industrial electrical experience.
• Must be permitted to possess/handle explosives and submit an employee possessor questionnaire to the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
• Ability to use hand tools, grease gun, soldering iron and electric testing equipment.
• Knowledge of operation of mining equipment and engine maintenance. HAZCOM
• Prefer at least 3 years' experience in an industrial or mining environment.
• Prefer Knowledge of MSHA safety regulations and compliance standards.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and industrial best practices.

Working Conditions

• Must be physically able to work in a mining environment underground or on the surface.
• Must pass a pre-employment physical and electrical skills assessment.
• Must provide documentation or certification of skill level.
• May be required to work varying shifts, including weekends and overtime as needed.
