Maintenance Technician (Electrical Emphasis)
Onsite near Bunker Hill/ Russel area - This is an hourly rate ($25-$29/hr+) + weekly Over Time
Reports To: Maintenance Manager who will be a great mentor and teach on how to maintain all electrical equipment. This is a great learning opportunity and long-term stable home!
This role has a base hourly rate (equals about $60,000-$70,000 yearly) and includes lots of opportunities to earn OT (an extra $12K-$20K+ on top of base).
Shift:
- Standard hours: 6:30 AM – 4:00 PM ("40 regular hours + 5 OT"), Monday–Friday
- On-call rotation covers after-hours and weekend support for maintenance needs (This averages out to about 6 to 8+ extra OT hours weekly)
- Overtime may be required during shutdowns, outages, or emergency repairs (additional OT opportunities)
This schedule provides consistent daytime hours, regular weekends off (outside of being on-call), and the opportunity to earn additional pay through overtime and on-call response.
POSITION
PURPOSE:
To ensure the safe and continuous operations of facilities through preventive and predictive maintenance as well as in unexpected situations. Troubleshooting malfunctions, blackouts and repairing electrical issues with machines. The goal will be to produce and maintain well-functioning electrical connections to minimize the probability of accidents and maximize usability of electricity in all facilities.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:
- Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting
- Perform preventative maintenance to equipment
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, prepare reports on equipment performance, and manage inventory of spare parts and supplies.
- Ensure all maintenance work complies with established safety procedures, regulations, and industry standards
- Execute plans of electrical wiring for well-functioning lighting, intercom, and other electrical systems
- Install safety and distribution components
- Connect wiring in electrical circuits and networks ensuring compatibility of components
- Prepare and assemble conduits and connect wiring through them
- Prevent breakdown of systems by routinely inspecting and replacing old wiring and insulated cables, cleaning circuits etc.
- Perform effective troubleshooting to identify hazards or malfunctions and repair or substitute damaged units
- Understand and follow all SQF and FSMA policies
QUALIFICATIONS / KNOWLEDGE:
- Proven experience as an electrician and maintenance technician
- Experience in industrial and/or commercial systems
- Troubleshoot PLC programming
- Running conduits and calculate proper load sizing
- Demonstrable ability to use electrical and hand tools (e.g. wire strippers, voltmeter etc.) and electrical drawings and blueprints
Education/ conditions of employment:
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Must pass drug screening, physical, and background checks
