Position: AIRCRAFT PNEUDRAULIC SYSTEMS MECHANIC with Security Clearance
Location: McConnell AFB

Duties The primary purpose of this position is: to serve as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) involved in the removing, installing, troubleshooting, interrogating, overhauling, adjusting, testing, modifying, calibrating, and repairing of complex integrated aircraft pneudraulic systems and equipment on board conventional/nuclear certified aircraft supported by the organization and to provide training to and evaluation of all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military as required in the accomplishment of duties set forth herein.

Duty 1 - Conducts scheduled/unscheduled maintenance and periodic inspections on all pneudraulically operated systems on/off aircraft in accordance with established procedures. Duty 2 - Performs troubleshooting of complex integrated pneudraulic systems of related on/off equipment for assigned and/or transient aircraft to include support equipment. Duty 3 - Performs off-equipment maintenance and bench checks to support the repair cycle. Disassembles pneudraulic system components by removing items such as covers, poppets, springs, seals, pistons, valves and valve seats, etc.

Duty 4 - Utilizes safety practices and tool control procedures to maintain a safe and clean work area. Strictly adheres to safety procedures and regulations and promptly reports any observed or identified violations in accordance with established guidelines. Duty 5 - Prepares/executes effective training plans to maximize training for all assigned personnel, e.g., Active Duty, Reservist, Civilians, Contractors and foreign military.

* The incumbent must obtain and retain a Secret security clearance level designated for the position.
* If authorized, PCS will be paid IAW JTR and AF Regulations. If receiving an authorized PCS, you may be subject to completing/signing a CONUS agreement. More information on PCS requirements, may be found at:  
* This position is subject to provisions of the DoD Priority Placement Program.
* Employee may be required to work other than normal duty hours, to include evenings, weekends and/or holidays.
* Shift work and emergency overtime may be required.
* Employee must maintain current certifications.
* Disclosure of Political Appointments.
* Must be a current member of the AF Reserve or willing/qualified to join.
* Advance in hire may be authorized if there is demonstrable proof provided on your resume.

* The incumbent may be required to fly in military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments (TDY) away from the normal duty station.

* Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications This position is obligated to the former incumbent and has return rights to this position under 10 U.S.C. 1586. Upon the employee's return you are subject to being displaced from this obligated position. In order to qualify, you must meet the quality level of experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards Handbook X-118C for WG 8200-Fluid Systems Maintenance Group.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Applicants will be rated in accordance with the OPM Qualification Standard Handbook X-118C for the WG 8200-Fluid Systems Maintenance Group.
