The pay range per hour is $21.50 - $36.55. Pay is based on several factors which vary based on position. These include labor markets and, in some cases, education, work experience and certifications. General Merchandise is focused on operations, process and efficiency to enable a consistent guest experience. The team leads inbound, outbound, replenishment, and promotional signing processes, and oversees inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and pricing for all GM areas. The role may also involve leading Food & Beverage and Food Service to provide a fresh and food-safe experience. Responsibilities include ensuring efficient pick, pack and ship fulfillment where applicable, and delivering merchandise to guests.
Responsibilities- Lead guest service fundamentals and build a guest-first culture on your team.
- Understand retail business fundamentals, including department sales trends, inventory management, guest shopping patterns, pricing and promotions strategies.
- Plan daily/weekly workload to support business priorities and deliver sales goals with your leader; drive process improvements and efficiency.
- Lead a team of hourly team members, including interviewing, developing, coaching, evaluating and retaining talent.
- Coach and train hourly team members to build a capable team with direction from your leader.
- Execute daily/weekly workload to deliver department and store sales goals and guest engagement, including merchandising, pricing, setting and updating displays, sampling, promotions and price changes.
- Educate the team on operational procedures affecting inventory management, store profitability and product availability.
- Assist with inventory accuracy, merchandise setup and maintenance, and pricing for all store areas.
- Assign daily tasks based on planned workload and guest traffic, aligned with business priorities.
- Help establish clear goals and hold team members accountable to expectations.
- Assist with pick, pack and ship fulfillment and assess reporting to identify gaps and plan improvements.
- Collaborate with teams to ensure the store is guest-ready and aligned with leadership direction.
- Stay informed about trends and product knowledge to educate team members.
- Participate in candidate evaluation and contribute to building a guest-centric team.
- Support a safe, compliant work environment and model ethical conduct.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 18 years of age or older.
- Previous retail experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to lead and hold others accountable; effective communication skills.
- Flexible work schedule, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
- Ability to handle cash operations, operate handheld scanners, and work with technology as directed.
- Physical ability to climb ladders, lift items up to 44 pounds, and work in varying temperatures.
