Part Time Wound Care Nurse Practitioner

We are currently seeking Wound Care Nurse Practitioners to provide wound services to patients living in long-term care facilities.

• Provide wound care services for long-term care patients residing in skilled nursing facilities.
• Prescribe appropriate medications, including controlled substances in accordance with Kansas law.
• Order, review, and/or follow up with treatments and diagnostic testing.
• Communicate with the nursing home staff regularly and as needed to discuss changes in condition and care plans.
• Collaborate with the primary care physician.

• Current, unrestricted NP license in the state of Kansas.
• Board Certification.
• DEA licensure (Optional).
• Clinical background in adult, family, or geriatric specialties.
• Clinical background in wound care, including chronic, debilitating, stalled, or infected wounds.
• Comfortable diagnosing and treating diabetic, arterial, venous, and mixed etiology wounds or Kennedy Ulcers.
• Comfortable staging pressure injuries according to the NPIAP.
• Familiar with wound care best practices and advanced wound care products (collagens, alginates, foams, silvers, etc.).
• Experience with wound VACs and other DME such as pressure-relieving/reducing devices.
• Strong preference for wound certification or openness to obtaining certification.
• Experience working in a long-term care setting.
• Ability to work with an EMR.
• Ability to work within an interdisciplinary care team to coordinate patient care.
