The Registered Nurse must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the patients served. The individual must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and possess the ability to assess and interpret data to identify age‑specific needs. The RN provides specialized professional nursing supervision and coordination of quality patient care by fostering therapeutic relationships, active treatment, and supporting the hospital in its mission and vision.

• Provides and delegates patient care and recognizes behavioral and physical changes.
• Plans nursing interventions and makes nursing assessments.
• Creates and carries out nursing care recommendations.
• Maintains a therapeutic environment.
• Passes medications and oversees the medication room.
• May serve as a shift leader providing oversight to subordinate nursing staff.
• Makes work assignments for unit staff.
• Responds to medical emergencies.
• Takes orders and provides care/treatment as ordered by medical staff.
• Performs other duties as assigned within the Nursing Department.

• Kansas RN license/temporary permit or authorization to practice.
• Approved drug test.
• Facility‑required training/certifications maintained continuously.
