Position: Orthopedics Nurse Practitioner opening in NW Kansas
Location: Colby

Position Overview

Seeking Advanced Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) to join a talented orthopedic team in Colby, KS.

Days/

Hours:

8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, four days per week.

Pay Range:
Dependent upon licensure and experience.

Qualifications
  • Nurse Practitioner:
    Master’s or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree from an accredited program.
  • Physician Assistant:
    Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant program.
  • Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of practice.
  • National certification (e.g., AANP, ANCC, NCCPA) required.
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS certification required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in orthopedic settings preferred.
  • New graduates with relevant clinical rotations or internships will be considered.

This rural community of 5,000 population is located in Northwest Kansas. It offers a quality lifestyle with affordable housing and an outstanding public school system. The city is known as “the Oasis on the Plains.” It is an easy, straight drive to Denver, Colorado Springs or Wichita on Interstate 70.

The Medical Center is a community based, private not‑for‑profit 25‑bed critical access hospital. In providing services for the surrounding region, the clinic draws patients from a nine‑county area. It strives to be the most progressive, dependable, and knowledgeable regional medical center, providing compassionate, evidence‑based care in a cost‑effective manner. The facility features advanced diagnostics on‑site, including an 80‑slice CT, 3‑D mammography, MRI, nuclear medicine, and 24‑hour ultrasound.

Hospital acute‑care admissions in 2016 totaled 575, including 150 swing bed admissions, over 1,000 surgeries/procedures, 169 deliveries, and approximately 3,000 ER visits.
