Position Summary

The Paint Prep Technician is responsible for preparing parts and whole goods for paint application while maintaining quality standards, efficiency, and safety within the paint department. This position supports the Paint Team by ensuring proper preparation, cleanliness, and organization to produce a high-quality finished product.

Essential Functions &

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for the majority of the workday
  • Frequent bending, stooping, squatting, pushing, and pulling of parts and containers
  • Repetitive motion throughout the shift
  • Ability to lift 50+ pounds consistently
  • Ability to operate machinery safely and efficiently
  • Ability to operate a forklift and obtain Harper Industries certification
Position Qualifications
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to process work orders accurately
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to assess priorities in a time-sensitive environment
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision
  • Basic mechanical aptitude preferred
Primary Responsibilities
  • Prepare parts and whole goods for paint application
  • Apply proper thickness of paint to maintain expected quality finish
  • Prime, paint, and apply Gator Hyde in the paint booth as needed
  • Blow off paint carts prior to painting
  • Prep flatbeds for Gator Hyde application
  • Apply Gator Hyde to flatbeds
  • Clean and maintain paint guns daily
  • Assist with routine filter changes
  • Maintain paint kitchen responsibilities
  • Wash carts in the wash bay
  • Assist with loading and unloading parts on paint carts
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace
  • Follow all safety procedures and company policies
  • Perform other duties as assigned
