Maintenance Technician – Night Shift (Hill's Pet Nutrition)

Location: Tonganoxie, Kansas (15 minutes from Lawrence, 30 minutes from Kansas City, 30 minutes from Topeka)

Schedule: 12 hr night shift (6:00 pm - 6:30 am), 2-2-3 schedule.

• Support production lines, equipment, and facility maintenance.
• Troubleshoot, repair, and conduct preventive maintenance for production and utility equipment to ensure reliability.
• Assist with root cause analysis of equipment failures and breakdowns.
• Review electrical and pneumatic schematics during troubleshooting, repair, and project work.
• Collaborate with operators to support production and transfer skills to operational technicians.
• Function as a technical resource on project and improvement teams.
• Use SAP-EAM and other electronic tools to document maintenance activities.
• Comply with Hill’s policies, safety standards, GMPs, and food safety regulations.
• Participate in quality and safety programs.
• Record test procedures and results; recommend product or test method changes.
• Fabricate machine parts as needed (welding, machining, electrical).
• Operate forklifts, scissor lifts, and boom lifts; use ladders and stairs.
• Maintain spare parts inventory and manage ordering.
• Complete regulatory and compliance documentation accurately.
• Ensure preventive maintenance plans are recorded in SAP and audited for effectiveness.
• Perform any other job functions that may be assigned.

• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ year of industrial maintenance experience.
• Ability to work an off-shift schedule including weekends.
• Basic math skills.
• Computer skills.

• Previous SAP-PM/EAM experience.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• 3+ years industrial maintenance experience in food, pet food, or pharmaceuticals.
• Self-directed work groups, teamwork, interpersonal skills, and strong results-oriented attitude.
• Advanced troubleshooting and repair technical issues.
• Knowledge of food safety guidelines.
• Ability to access, input, and retrieve information from computer systems.
