Location: Harper

Purpose:

Ability to set up and operation of Bladder Press to form various sizes of flat pattern sheet metal aircraft components according to specified written instructions and drawings.

Responsibilities
  • Follow detailed standard work procedures for various sizes of flat pattern parts to be formed on the bladder press.
  • Ensure cosmetic appearance of parts is consistent; verify the first part and every part is the same.
  • Prevent foreign object debris from remaining on forming blocks to avoid damage or mis‑forming of parts.
  • Change out and maintain all different forming blocks used in the area.
  • Understand bladder maintenance requirements.
  • Calculate, measure, and examine dimensions or tolerances using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and portable CMM or FARO to ensure conformance to customer specifications.
  • Maintain form blocks in proper operational condition.
  • Study sample parts, blueprints, drawings, or engineering information to determine product conformance.
  • Identify material, certifications, and traceability discrepancies.
  • Display superior knowledge of cosmetic appearance of parts and catch all flawed parts in the bladder press area instead of during a later operation.
  • Communicate well with supervisors and peers and display a positive attitude.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
General Requirements
  • Advanced blueprint reading; understand work orders and customer.
  • Maintain machine and tooling; understand machine maintenance and be proactive in keeping repairs to a minimum.
  • Inspect parts, bring first parts to inspection that meet or exceed engineering requirements.
  • Motivation; display a positive attitude, offer helpful suggestions, work well under pressure and in a team environment, understand and support Cox Machining mission and value statement.
  • Attendance in line with company policy; reliability is expected.
  • Productivity: produce acceptable amount of work, complete projects in a timely manner.
  • Train: learn and ensure required training classes are completed by the scheduled time.
  • Work closely with shop floor supervision and employees.
  • Safety: follow all guidelines, policies, and procedures related to safety requirements.
