• Engage in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools, equipment and in maintenance of buildings, grounds and utility systems of a manufacturing plant or other establishment.
• Work on work order requests from production floor and determine priority.
• Follow all safety and good manufacturing processes.
• Communicate to production and quality assurance about equipment break downs and estimated time needed to complete repairs.
• Provide updates to incoming maintenance personnel on the status of break downs, repairs and troubleshooting from previous shift.
• Observe and listen to sounds of mechanical devices in operation to locate signs of trouble.
• Dismantle devices to gain access to and remove defective parts; repair or replace parts as needed.
• Install special functional and structural parts in devices.
• Lubricate and clean parts, equipment and machinery.
• Test and adjust equipment to meet performance specifications.
• Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, saws and other metalworking tools to make and repair parts.
• Initiate purchase orders for parts and machines.
• Repair electrical equipment, including PC controllers.
• Maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate variable shifts (8–12 hours depending on maintenance workload) and be available for on-call status.
• Participate in and train with the Safety Team.
• Perform other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

• Education:
  
  High School diploma at minimum
• Certificates, Licenses, Registration:
  Forklift Certification
• Experience with the following areas:
  • Hydraulics
  • Electrical wiring (110, 220, 480)
  • Water pumps
  • Industrial burners
  • TIG welding, stick welding, and MIG welding
  • Industrial air compressors
  • Carpentry skills
  • Knowledge of gas applications

Physical:
Regularly required to stand, use hands, reach, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Occasionally may sit, taste or smell. Frequently lift up to 25 lbs, occasionally up to 70 lbs. Must be able to work 8-hour shifts with occasional extended shifts not to exceed 12 hours. Regularly required to work ion requirements include close and distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Mental:
Frequently engage in teamwork. Occasionally use interpersonal and customer service skills. Occasionally need to speak and write English.
