Student therapist will learn, practice and provide all modalities of care work under the supervision of the manager and/or staff of the cardiopulmonary department.

Students with a Respiratory Therapy Student permit are encouraged to apply.

The student respiratory therapist will report to the Cardiopulmonary Manager and/or Respiratory Therapist.

What you'll do
  • Administer all modalities of the Cardiopulmonary Department as described in the policy and procedure manual.
  • Evaluate patients by performing limited physical examinations and conducting diagnostic tests including those that measure lung capacity tests and acidity and alkalinity of the blood.
  • Treat patients by using oxygen or oxygen mixtures, chest physiotherapy, and aerosol medications.
  • Teach patients/residents how to use medications and equipment.
  • Perform regular checks on patients and equipment.
What you bring to the table
  • Valid Respiratory Therapy student permit.
  • Current BLS for Healthcare Provider CPR or CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer Certification.
  • Possess interpersonal skills to deal well with the public and co-workers in a professional and cooperative manner.
