Citizens Health is recruiting a Referral Specialist to work full-time at our acute care facility in Colby, Kansas. The position is located at 100 E College Ave, Colby, KS.

Position InformationThe Referral Specialist works with a variety of clinics and hospitals to coordinate referrals and appointments with specialty providers. The role reports to the Patient Access Supervisor and is a full‑time position (Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm). Pay is dependent upon experience.
What You’ll Do- Coordinate communications between patients and medical staff.
- Direct referrals, obtain appointments, and retrieve medical records.
- Ensure strict adherence to HIPAA, PHI, and confidentiality requirements.
- Complete other duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or GED required; medical terminology knowledge and two years of related clerical experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
- Strong customer‑service skills with the ability to meet needs, resolve issues, and evaluate satisfaction.
- Ability to maintain good working relationships with all personnel.
- Clear communication skills.
- Self‑starter who takes initiative and is a team player.
- Positive attitude and high energy.
- Supports a positive, supportive working atmosphere.
- Displays integrity, accountability, and adaptability to constructive criticism.
- Adheres to organizational policies, attends work on time, and demonstrates professional conduct.

Requires sitting at a desk while answering and placing telephone calls and scheduling appointments on a computer.
