Morris County Hospital - MCH Clinic is accepting applications for a part time C N A at the Council Grove Clinic that would work from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm - Monday thru Friday. This position would be responsible for aiding physicians, keeping medical records, helping and examining patients, and performing routine office duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES- Greet patients
- Prepares patients for examination or treatment by checking and recording blood pressure, oxygen saturation, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.
- Asks patients about their medical histories and records answers in the patient file. Update patient records with all information present (transfer/ER/Dismissal Reports)
- Prepares examining rooms for patients, arranging medical instruments for the examination
- Straightens and sterilizes the examining room after each examination, disposing of used linens and supplies and sterilizing instruments
- Keeps track of office and medical supply inventories, ordering new supplies when necessary to include Peterson lab supplies.
- Performs administrative tasks as necessary, including typing case histories, keeping files and records up‑to‑date
- Reports to the Nurse, Clinical Supervisor and works with the supervising Physician.
- Perform WAIVE testing to include controls and documentation of the results in the patient health record.
- Assist providers with procedures as requested.
- Put away laundry and supplies.
- Remove trash/waste from work area/exam rooms
- Suture/staple removal
- Ear cleaning
- Foot care
- Other duties as requested/assigned.
- Coordinate “Turn a Page, Touch a Mind” Program
- Track books given out
- Order and label new books
- Send in bi‑yearly report
- Attend yearly required webinar with sponsoring providers
Reports directly to the Clinic Manager. Assist and work in conjunction with medical office staff to facilitate smooth office operations.
QUALIFICATIONSA high school diploma or GED is required; nurse aid certification is preferred. Good communications skills and the ability to work well with people is essential. Good grooming, courtesy, and the ability to respect patients’ needs are required. Computer knowledge is preferred.
PHYSICAL DEMANDSAbility to communicate orally with patients, doctors, nurses, and others is crucial. Regular use of the telephone is important. Standing, walking, or sitting for extended periods is common. Hearing and vision within normal ranges is helpful for normal conversations, to receive ordinary information and to prepare or inspect documents.
Heavy lifting is not expected. Exertion of up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally may be required to assist patients with movement. Good manual dexterity for the use of common office and medical equipment such as computer terminals.
Good reasoning ability is required to solve a wide range of medical and emergency problems. Able to apply math skills and other analytics as required. Able to maintain emotional stability to cope with human suffering, emergencies, and other stresses. Able to understand and utilize management reports, medical charts and other documents to conduct business.
