Responsible for providing intermediate level design and drafting support to Manufacturing Design.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

  • Complete assigned projects on-time and accurately; follow directions, scope and procedures provided by Team Leaders and managers.
  • Perform design-drafting assignments using AutoCAD 2D and 3D drawing techniques.
  • Develop accurate Bill of Material documents.
  • Follow and participate in development of engineering standards, format, and procedures to create, update, revise and modify drawings; communicate requirements of standards and procedures to others.
  • Utilize and create sketches, notes, and other input material to generate drawings.
  • Build equipment models based on vendor/specification documents.
  • Learn and adapt quickly to assigned project tasks, proceeding independently to initiate those tasks and manage multiple responsibilities.
  • Incorporate safety, operability, maintainability, and constructability in design work.
  • Report changes and mistakes to lead, identify changes and manage the revision process effectively.
  • Responsible for quality of work produced and follow methods of continuous improvement. Make recommendations for specific improvement opportunities.
  • Perform work according to ICM quality policies.
  • Generate complex structural model, coordinate and troubleshoot structural model with structural engineer.
  • Ability to mentor and train other designers and drafters.
  • Actively participate in project meetings and design/model reviews. Provide accurate feedback to project team regarding design progress.

Experience:

Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess excellent computer skills utilizing MS Office and AutoCAD (current version or within last 3 versions) 2D and 3D, Inventor, and Navisworks proficiency required. Proficiency test may be required as part of the interview.
  • Basic ability to review and check the accuracy of work prepared by others
  • Capable of reading and interpreting technical drawings
  • Familiar with AISI, AISC, ASME and ASTM specifications preferred
  • Must understand use of tape measure, square, level, and various layout tool
