Position Overview

The High School Mathematics Teacher is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction in courses such as Algebra, Geometry, Statistics, and other advanced mathematics subjects while aligning instruction with
* Kansas State Department of Education (KSDE) Mathematics Standards & Bureau of Indian Education (BIE) Standards*. The teacher creates an inclusive learning environment that supports diverse student needs and promotes critical thinking and mathematical reasoning.

Key Responsibilities

* Plan and deliver engaging mathematics lessons aligned with KSDE standards.

* Teach courses such as
* Algebra I & II, Geometry, Trigonometry, Pre-Calculus, and Statistics*.

* Promote mathematical reasoning, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.

* Incorporate real-world applications and culturally relevant learning opportunities.

* Assess and monitor student progress using formative and summative assessments.

* Differentiate instruction to support diverse learners, including students with disabilities and English learners.

* Prepare students for state assessments, college readiness benchmarks, and career pathways.

* Maintain a safe, respectful, and inclusive classroom environment.

* Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress.

* Participate in IEP and Section 504 meetings as appropriate.

* Collaborate with colleagues to support curriculum alignment and school improvement initiatives.

* Maintain accurate student records in compliance with FERPA and applicable regulations.

* Participate in professional development and perform additional duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

* * Bachelor’s degree
* in Mathematics, Mathematics Education, or a related field.

* * Valid Kansas Teaching License
* with appropriate Mathematics endorsement issued by KSDE. Out of state license accepted in Lieu of KS certification.

* Knowledge of KSDE Mathematics Standards and curriculum frameworks.

* Strong understanding of algebraic reasoning, geometry, statistics, and advanced mathematics concepts.

* Ability to differentiate instruction and support diverse learners.

* Strong classroom management, instructional planning, and communication skills.

* Ability to analyze student data to guide instructional decisions.

* Proficiency with educational technology and digital learning tools.

* Successful completion of required background checks.

* Teaching experience in secondary mathematics is required

Work Environment

* Work is performed primarily in a classroom setting.

* The position requires standing, moving throughout the classroom, and supervising students during instructional and non-instructional activities.
