About the Position

Ensemble Schools is seeking a fun, experienced, and professional instructor to teach part-time at Music House School of Music, located in Prairie Village and Overland Park. The role primarily involves in‑person teaching on Monday and Thursday nights between 3–9 pm, with a preference for work with Early Childhood (ages 4–5) Group Classes.

• Teach private lessons that build on each student’s strengths and interests.
• Lead group classes following the Music House curriculum.
• Attend monthly faculty meetings.
• Assist with three community events per year such as recitals, jam sessions, and faculty concerts.
• Communicate and collaborate with parents, fellow faculty, and administrative staff.
• Track student attendance and maintain detailed teaching notes.
• Sign students up for and prepare them for group and individual performances.
• Create and/or adhere to lesson plans and teaching guides.

• Bachelor’s degree in music education or performance is preferred.
• At least one year of teaching experience; group teaching experience is a plus.
• Performance experience in both individual and ensemble settings.
• Excellent written, spoken, and listening communication skills.
• Organized, detail‑oriented, and capable of thriving in a fast‑paced environment.
• Proficiency with technology, including computers, mobile devices, internet browsers, and various online applications.
• Reliability, punctuality, and the ability to pass a routine background check.

Instructor pay ranges from $24–$28 per hour. After 90 days, a 401(K) program with employer matching is available to all employees. Health benefit packages are provided for all part‑ and full‑time employees at Ensemble.
