• Assist students in performing activities that have been planned and initiated by the teacher.
• Provide individual assistance with academic tasks, interactions with other students, and other school activities.
• Assist in supervising students in general education classrooms, resource rooms, on the playground, lunchroom, bathroom, and other school or community environments.
• Carry out any behavior intervention plans or students assistance plans developed by the supervising teachers or IEP team.
• Assist in preparing instructional materials.
• Collect student performance data as directed by the teachers.
• Keep records as directed by the teachers.
• Assist in entering data for computerized education programs and records.
• Assist a student with daily living skills and self‑care as needed.
• Report to supervising teachers and/or administrators any problems or questions regarding the assigned students and their educational programs.
• Be aware of and follow all policies and regulations of the assigned school district and Keystone Learning Services.
• Be aware of and follow all policies and regulations regarding the confidentiality of student information.

  Read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Write routine reports and correspondence. Perform basic arithmetic. Apply common‑sense to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Occasional lifting and carrying up to fifty (50) pounds, some pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling. The employee is occasionally required to stand (sometimes for extended periods); walk (sometimes for extended distances, e.g., field trips); and use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Generally, the job requires 60% sitting, 20% walking, and 20% standing.

The job is performed in a generally hazard‑free environment.

• Experience
  :
  Preferred two years of related experience, especially with children.
• Education
  :
  High School Diploma (Required).
• Equivalency
  :
  Evidence of the ability to collaborate and work with a diverse customer base.

$960.14 per month contribution towards health insurance, KPERS position, paid time off.

$15.00 - base hourly rate, increases with education and/or experience.

Atchison County Community Schools #377, Jefferson County North #339, Jefferson West #340, McLouth #342, Oskaloosa #341, Perry‑Lecompton #343, Valley Falls #338 and Easton #449. We also hire special education administrators to assist schools with planning, training, and supervision of all staff and oversee compliance monitoring. The member districts are located in the beautiful countryside surrounding Lake Perry including portions of Douglas, Jackson, Jefferson, and Atchison Counties.

Tiny K programs in 7 counties, internet and technology services, comprehensive staff development, Parents as Teachers in 21 school districts, hosts WebKIDSS IEP Consortium, John Dewey Learning Academy, and fiscal manager of KSDE Technical Assistance System Network (TASN), Autism and Tertiary Behavior Support (ATBS) and School Mental Health Initiative (SMHI).
