Job Overview

Do you want to make a difference in the life of a student? Our school is seeking caring, consistent adults to join our para educator team.

Paraeducators work closely with teachers to provide extra support to students. Paraeducators working with our Functional Applied Academics (FAA) classroom may work with students who have a cognitive disability, a traumatic brain injury, other health impairments, or a combination of disabilities that limit their ability to complete the K‑12 general curriculum without significant modifications.

The academic emphasis for students supported in FAA is on academic skills that will contribute to their independence in work, recreation, and living after graduation.

Compensation starts at $15.00/hr.

Responsibilities
  • Provide academic accommodations and support students with learning and disability challenges.
  • Offer social, emotional, and physical support based on individual student needs.
  • Assist with toileting and other personal care activities, especially for younger students.
  • Follow all health and safety precautions.
  • Work primarily standing (≈80% of the day) and walking, and may also lift, carry, push, pull, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and use finger dexterity.
Qualifications
  • Pass a background check.
  • Have a current TB test.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • Complete 48 college credits, have an associate’s degree, or possess state-approved assessment credentials—State approved assessment (https://(Use the "Apply for this Job" box below).).
  • Be a strong team player.
  • Possess basic computer and math skills.
  • Enjoy a fast‑paced environment.
  • Maintain regular and acceptable attendance/punctuality.
