Special Needs Classroom Nurse, Mize Elementary School, School Year
Purpose
The special needs classroom school nurse provides health services for assigned student(s) with disabilities who receive their special education and related services through a center-based special education classroom. The goal is to provide medical services while maintaining the student(s) in the educational environment (i.e., special education classroom, general education classroom, playground, bus/van, etc.). This nurse position may also provide medical care for students on their bus/van ride to school.
Qualifications- Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing
- Registered Nurse License
- Prior experience working with children preferred in a special needs school setting preferred, but not required
Salary commensurate with degrees held and years of experience
- ADN - $46,432
- BSN - $48,666
- MSN - $51,982

RequirementsAll employees must have a current TB test (Tuberculosis). If you’ve had a recent TB Test (less than 12 months ago) we can accept a copy of your test results. If it’s been more than 1 year ago, you will be required to obtain a new test. Employees are responsible for the cost of the test. Must submit a pre employment physical prior to first day of work.
