Education:

Entering Grades 1-8

Certified elementary and middle school literacy teachers should apply for this opportunity. Teachers will:

• Participate in 4 hours of training and planning to implement a literacy-focused summer curriculum.
• Teach 15 days from June 1–June 25 (Monday–Thursday) 8:00–12:00 at Cedar Hills Elementary.
• Work with general education students with below‑level skills entering grades 1–8.
• Use best instructional practices to foster growth among approximately ten to twelve students in each class.

• Participate in four (4) hours of learning, planning, setup, and creating a summer teaching toolkit on May 28th from 8:00 am–12:00 pm. New resources, books, teaching tools, and materials will be provided. Set up classroom.
• Stipend Pay: $30/hour for a maximum of 4 hours.

• Monday, June 1 through Thursday, June 25 (no classes on June 19th in observation of the Juneteenth holiday) teach daily lessons utilizing the provided literacy-based curricular resources. Teachers will be on site from 8:00 am–12:00 pm (Monday–Thursday). Students attend 8:30 am–11:30 am.
• Stipend Pay: $30/hour for 4 hours each day.

• Participate in one (1) hour of professional learning each Wednesday during summer sessions with Step Up to Summer Learning leaders. Dates:
  Wednesdays June 3, 10, 17, and 24, after students are dismissed.
• If interested in PL points, alert the administrator and enter a knowledge-level request on My Learning Plan  – PL points earned instead of pay for these 4 hours.
• Stipend Pay: $30/hour for one (1) hour each week.
