Vice President of Academic Affairs

Overview

Labette Community College is excited to announce the opening of the Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) position due to the retirement of the President and internal movement of the current VPAA to President. Labette Community College invites applications for a dynamic and collaborative leader to serve as Vice President of Academic Affairs (VPAA) and chief academic officer. Reporting directly to the President, the VPAA provides strategic leadership for all instructional programs and academic services.

• Provide oversight and leadership for transfer and career/technical education programs.
• Supervise, develop, evaluate, and continuously improve academic courses and curricula.
• Recommend the employment of full-time faculty.
• Guide the preparation of the semester course schedule.
• Oversee institutional compliance and reporting, including Kansas Board of Regents (KBOR) Performance Agreements and Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accreditation, as well as approval and compliance for new academic programs.
• Assist with the development of the College’s annual budget and supervise academic staff.

• Master’s degree required or doctorate degree preferred.
• At least three years of teaching experience at a postsecondary institution.
• Professional experience with distance education and career technical education programs.
• Minimum of three years of administrative experience and five years of experience working in a community college preferred.
• Understanding of the community college philosophy with the ability to work harmoniously with administrators, faculty, staff, students, and community members.

• Salary is based on experience and ranges from $85,459 to $104,162 annually. This is a salaried, contract position. The position remains open until filled.
