Location: LyonsPurpose:
Plans and facilitates learning as it relates to each student’s environment so that the student can use new skills and experiences gained to understand the world better; establishes outcomes based on student’s capacity; leads and instructs each student into mastery of appropriate curriculum; provides activities designed to promote successful social, physical, and intellectual growth.

Classified personnel as assigned by the administration.
Qualifications:Kansas State Teaching Certificate/Licenses in assigned area(s) of instruction.Highly qualified as defined in the No Child Left Behind Legislation.Ability to convey information to students in a variety of methods to induce learning.Ability to use technology as an instructional tool.Ability to use appropriate classroom management skills that insure a positive learning.Keep active in understanding the current trends in the discipline.Essential Functions:Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, colleagues, and the community.Ability to effectively manage the classroom.Ability to perform assigned tasks.Ability to establish goals and objectives.Ability to design effective strategies to achieve goals.Ability to make the subject matter relevant to the students.Ability to supervise students in non‑classroom settings.Ability to promote education throughout the community.Ability to insure classroom activities conform to District policies, rules, and regulations.Physical Requirements /
Environmental Conditions:Must occasionally work in noisy and crowded environments with numerous interruptions.Requires stooping, kneeling, bending, turning, and reaching.Ability to move equipment within the building as required.Requires prolonged sitting and standing; and use of equipment causing eye fatigue.General Responsibilities:Plans individual and group curriculum and instruction by developing lesson plans; develops assignments and activities to stimulate growth in learning: language arts skills (reading, spelling, writing and communication/speaking), English, mathematics, science, social studies, physical education.Teaches/facilitates learning and student participation by using various means of instruction: designs multiple methods to present and reinforce curriculum to include all students who process information differently; guides individual and group activities and discussions; uses a variety of diagnostic techniques to assess student difficulties; supplies remedies to make success possible.Promotes study habits incorporating new skills for further reinforcement.Creates and sustains a learning environment that will enhance learning: maintains control of physical behavior of students to ensure individual rights and privileges for learning; ensures the classroom is attractive and conducive to learning.Completes grading, record keeping and reporting as required.Provides social and community (in and out of the classroom) activities and opportunities to display and practice skill development for the purpose of insuring intellectual, social, emotional, and physical growth so that students will feel a sense of success in their own rate of development.Encourages and promotes communication and interaction with parents through conferences including but not limited to telephone calls, record keeping, lesson plans, and multiple pupil performance outcomes/assessments.Appropriately reports recognition of possible exceptionalities for early referrals of students.Interacts with faculty, principal, and community groups for planning curriculum and activities.Networks with sending and receiving teachers to facilitate positive transition.Participates in personal professional growth activities and district inservice programs.Manages all teaching requirements with mobility to move from place to place with young children to demonstrate and teach activities within the building and on the playground; ability to conduct classroom demonstrations including but not limited to teaching drawing, writing, sorting, feeling, opening, stapling, threading and turning pages to young children; and, focused observation to observe performance and behavior of all…
