Job Description

Tyro Christian Church in southeast Kansas is seeking a full-time Weekend Experience Minister. We’re looking for someone with a passion for creating and leading powerful, Christ-centered worship services—someone who combines musical talent, technical ability, and a heart for helping people connect deeply with God.

Our congregation averages 550 in weekly attendance and is blessed with thriving ministries for all ages, as well as an affiliated K–12 Christian school on site.

• A spiritually mature follower of Christ whose beliefs align with Independent Christian Churches.
• A gifted worship leader who can engage the congregation through both musical and spiritual leadership.
• Someone with a working knowledge of (or willingness to learn) sound, lighting, and visual technologies used in modern worship settings.
• A team builder who can recruit, train, and encourage volunteers in worship, production, and creative arts.
• A person who values excellence, collaboration, and authenticity in all aspects of weekend services.

• Plan and lead engaging worship services for Sunday services and special events.
• Coordinate music, sound, lighting, and stage elements to create a cohesive worship environment.
• Lead and develop a multi-member team of musicians, vocalists, and technical volunteers.
• Partner with ministry staff to ensure every aspect of the weekend experience supports the church’s mission.
• Model humility, integrity, and servant leadership in all areas of life and ministry.
