About the RoleMiller Contracting is seeking an experienced Steel Structure Foreman to lead steel erection and structural operations across active mining and industrial project sites. This role is ideal for a field-driven leader who works independently and ensures work is executed safely and to specification.
This position is project-based and expected to transition to additional assignments following completion of current projects through the end of 2026.
Key Responsibilities- Enforce MSHA, OSHA, and site-specific safety requirements
- Monitor quality and ensure work meets specifications and tolerances
- Build and maintain a positive relationship with the site’s representatives and engineers
- Lead and supervise steel structure and erection crews on active job sites
- Plan daily work activities and assign tasks based on project schedules
- Oversee concrete placement, forming, reinforcing, finishing, and curing operations
- Read and interpret drawings, plans, and specifications
- Coordinate with Project Managers, Superintendents, engineers, and other trades
- Conduct daily safety briefings and job hazard analysis
- Monitor quality and ensure work meets specifications and tolerances
- Track progress and proactively address challenges or delays
- Mentor crew members and maintain productivity and morale
- Be a solution provider
- Proven experience as a Foreman or Lead in steel structure or industrial construction
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently
- Ability to read and interpret structural drawings and blueprints
- Solid understanding of construction safety standards
- Willingness and ability to travel to project locations
- Experience on large-scale or multi-site projects
- OSHA certification or equivalent safety training
- Strong organizational and planning skills
