Lead Buyer

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Buyer to join our team. In this role, you will play a crucial part in our purchasing department, handling procurement responsibilities with a focus on electronics and manufacturing industries. This position requires a seasoned professional with strong experience in supply chain management and ERP systems.

• Generate purchase orders from MRP and general requisitioned items.
• Adhere to company and purchasing department policies and procedures.
• Follow up and expedite past due materials.
• Communicate problem part issues with supervisor and production.
• Maintain proper material lead times and IMDEF settings in SAP.
• Negotiate the best possible prices for items purchased while ensuring quality components and reliable deliveries using discretion and independent judgment.
• Maintain and provide rationalization for supplier relationships.
• Interact with other departments as needed.
• Participate and contribute to the Quality Improvement Process.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• 5+ years of experience in purchasing/supply chain
• ERP experience (MS Dynamics a plus)
• Bachelor's Degree in business or related field
• Experience in electronics and manufacturing

This role is based in our current office in Overland Park, with plans to move to a new office in Olathe within the next 3-6 months. The team consists of 100 total employees. While local presence in the office is required when not traveling, there is flexibility with a hybrid work model. The position reports directly to the Director of Manufacturing Operations.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Overland Park, KS.

The pay range for this position is $38.00 - $43.00/hr.
