The AGRIntelligence Agronomist leads efforts within the division to utilize data collected through AGRIntelligence to make the most advantageous recommendations to Helena customers. This position is also responsible for providing training to location sales teams to help them develop both basic and advanced agronomic knowledge in order to interpret and utilize AGRIntelligence data effectively for Helena customers.
This position is part of Helena's trademarked AI program. This business was created to help guide growers' business decisions and help them identify potential problems in the field before they take root. Our AI group focuses exclusively on creating new and innovative technologies to boost yields and leave a lasting impact on farms for generations to come.
This role is also responsible for collaborating with other team members to guide and develop new agronomic programs for many areas of business to help solve customers' agronomic problems.
Candidates must live in, or be willing to relocate to, the designated sales territory.
WHAT YOUR DAY WILL LOOK LIKE- Works with a variety of groups within the division to develop sound agronomic fertility programs for their assigned territories.
- Plans and presents at agronomic meetings to demonstrate the value of AGRIntelligence data and position solutions using Helena products and services.
- Maintains current information resources by attending agronomic seminars to develop a network of university and industry contacts.
- Encourages thorough data collection among the users and customers of the AGRIntelligence system in order to be prepared for future opportunities and offerings.
- Communicates market intelligence and competitive threats to business unit (BU) leadership.
- Cross trains with HPG, Seed and the AGRIntelligence team on agronomy practices and highlights the value of AGRIntelligence products, services and data to provide to Helena customers.
- Updates soil fertility equations and tissue sufficiency ranges as needed.
- Sets up research and demonstration plots.
- Keeps up with advancements in the precision ag/ information management industry and tests new field tools and technology.
- Collaborates leadership team on potential AGRIntelligence 360 system development.
- Develops training materials and new reports/tools for AIGRIntelligence.
- Coaches the sales team on ride-a-longs.
- Provides CCA/CEU training support for field sales teams and wholesale customers.
- Integrates AGRIntelligence, agronomy, HPG, fertilizer and seed into sales programs.
- Oversees programs and training where agronomy solutions are included and required for agronomic soundness where applicable (i.e. Helena Acre, ASK, etc).
- Provides agronomic support communications such as Field Link newsletters or other marketing materials used by field sales teams and customers.
- Works with Fertilizer Managers to share data insights and highlight potential fertilizer opportunities.
- Required to drive a company vehicle.
- Provides excellent customer service to all internal and external customers.

- Regular and reliable attendance is required.
- Follows all company policies and procedures.
- Bachelor's degree in an agricultural science discipline is required.
- Five years of experience in sales or agronomic consulting is required.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- Certification as a Certified Crop Advisor (or working toward certification) is required.
