Responsible for:

• Assisting in the day-to-day scheduling of the transportation of vehicles in Shoppa’s transportation department
• Ensuring the logistical organization and safety of all inbound, outbound and the inventory of all materials delivered and shipped
• Supporting and improving the company s commitment to ASEC
• Ensuring a culture of safety is fostered, trucks are maintained to Shoppa s standard, a high level of customer service is provided, loads are cost-effective and efficient, and DOT compliance is maintained.

• Transportation
  • Assist in coordinating efficient loads, prioritizing around customer urgency, truck type, geographic considerations, etc. Dispatches each driver and confirms delivery of their daily delivery schedule. Ensures efficient turnaround time for loads to minimize driver downtime between loads.
  • Communicate daily with branch transportation members to ensure seamless execution of scheduled deliveries.
  • File timely reports for any delays, incidents, or accidents for the Transportation Department.
  • Implement procedures that will ensure a consistent and professional level of customer service from the Transportation Department.
• Sources and utilizes outside vendors to augment deliveries during heavy sales periods.
• Logistics
  • Kaizen the entire flow of materials from the time they hit the dock until the time they are shipped.
  • Work with Dock Porter and Shop Porter to properly receive, inventory, and move materials within the facility and on the lot.
  • Work with the Shop Porter to ensure that material is properly stored, and locations recorded.
  • Work with Dock Porter and Shop Porter to ensure paperwork properly flows from the inbound/outbound material through coordinators and Shop Foreman so materials can be properly checked in and labeled.
• ASEC
  • Ensure the facilities—particularly the yard and shop—meet ASEC standards.
  • Facilitate the efforts to meet the recertification standards.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic technical/working knowledge of semi trucks required.
• 2-5 years' experience dispatching/coordinating transportation in a multi-site, multi-truck environment required.
• Knowledge of DOT/FMSCA and other associated government requirements/guidelines required.

• Must be able to stand, walk, bend, reach and stoop frequently.
• Must be able to sit at a workstation for extended periods, see and use computer, telephone, and other office equipment such as copier, fax machine, scanner.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds.
