Overnight delivery

To serve our customers by safely and efficiently transporting products from the warehouse by driving a tractor trailer to various customers and properly delivering and unloading products according to customer invoices and company standards.

• Unload product from trailer, by hand or using a hand cart down ramps, stairs, or docks, in all weather conditions and places in designated customer storage areas according to customer specifications and company standards (e.g., handling product according to preferred work methods, scanning product as it is delivered into the store).
• Ensure all paperwork is completed according to established company and governmental guidelines (e.g., DOT logs, inspections, vehicle maintenance reports, pre/post-trip reports) and that invoices are accurate and submitted daily; report damages and shortages promptly.
• Ensure all food safety protocols are met according to guidelines (proper temperatures in delivery vehicle, inspection for damages, proper storage to prevent cross-contamination) and maintain sanitary conditions in tractor and trailer; assist with maintaining sanitary conditions in the warehouse and yard.
• Develops and establishes good relationships with customers by providing excellent and courteous service with clear communication.
• Other duties as assigned by management.

• High school diploma/GED/equivalent; plus 1 year of tractor trailer driving experience preferred. Completion of a tractor trailer driving school is acceptable in addition to or instead of a high school diploma.

• Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License. Must be insurable to operate a vehicle as a condition of employment.

• Knowledge of: DOT regulations;
  Hazmat guidelines;
  Safe lifting and delivery practices.
• Skill in: driving over long distances, varied terrains, and in varying weather conditions; communicating with customers; problem solving; delivering products.
• Ability to: drive a tractor-trailer day and night; remain alert; meet or exceed productivity; handle hazardous materials and food items; operate a 3-axle tractor, 45-48 ft trailer, straight truck, onboard computer, keypad, and a 2-wheel hand cart; perform basic math; plan and organize work independently; read and speak English sufficiently to interact with the public and complete reports.

The physical demands listed describe the essential functions of the job: sit, talk, hear; lift or move up to 50 pounds by hand; push/pull up to 250 pounds with a hand cart; climb in/out of tractor and trailer; stack and unstack pallets; reach, bend, twist; vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth, and focus.

Occasionally exposed to wet, hot, extreme cold, and humid conditions; moving mechanical parts. Overnight schedule with weekends, holidays, overtime, on-call, and varying start times. Occasional exposure to high places, fumes, or airborne particles. Moderate noise level.
