We provide free training and lifeguard certification. You may also express interest in becoming a Lifeguard AND Swim Lesson Instructor.

Responsibilities- Continuously scan the pool (every 10 seconds), whirlpool and sauna areas, checking for safe conditions.
- Maintain a high level of alertness at all times and enforce posted rules to ensure safety of all participants.
- Be prepared with rescue tube, whistle, emergency button, and supplemental oxygen barrier mask; continuously monitor your zone of protection.
- Perform opening and closing procedures and maintain pool deck safety, clearing clutter as needed.
- Test pool chemical levels and report changes to the Aquatics Director; complete accident and incident reports.
- Ensure continuity of lap swim and direct participants accordingly.
- Participate in ongoing training during operational hours (CPR checks, safety checks, etc.).
- Be a team player and notify appropriate staff of unsafe conditions, needed repairs, complaints, accidents, or injuries immediately.
- Assist with environmental changes (e.g., outdoor to indoor, humid environments) as required.
- At least 16 years of age.
- National CPR, First Aid, Emergency Oxygen, and Lifeguard or Shallow Water certification. Free training and certification available if not currently certified.
- Demonstrate pass and rescue skills and the ability to work with diverse groups of people in a friendly and consistent manner.
- Ability to complete a physical competency assessment, including:
- 300-yard continuous swim with breath control
- 2 minutes of treading water using only the legs
- Timed event including a 20-yard swim, surface dive to 7–10 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object, return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to the starting point, then exit the water without a ladder
- Free training and lifeguard certification
