Job Description & How to Apply Below
If you like figuring out how things work — and why they don’t — this role might be a great fit.
We’re a family-owned industrial service and sales company with a small, hands-on team. We work on real equipment for real customers in power plants, water and wastewater facilities, and industrial plants. No two days look the same.
This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys mechanical work, basic electrical troubleshooting, and solving problems both in the shop and out in the field.
What You’ll Actually Do
• Assemble, repair, and troubleshoot electric actuated valves
• Assemble and calibrate instrumentation packages and electric actuators
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues on customer equipment — in our shop and on-site
• Support field service work , including installations, startups, and troubleshooting
• Assist with steam system surveys and plant walk-downs
• Take field measurements for mounting hardware and retrofits
• Participate in customer demos and occasional training sessions
• Help keep the shop and warehouse organized (shipping, receiving, inventory, tools)
What Makes This Role Different
• You’ll work on live customer problems , not just bench work
• You’ll see a wide range of systems — steam, power, water, wastewater, industrial
• You’ll be trusted to ask questions, think critically, and figure things out
• You won’t be stuck doing the same repetitive task every day
• You’ll work closely with a small team that values initiative and curiosity
Travel Expectations
• Travel is based on customer needs
• Mix of shop work, day trips, and overnights
• On average:
- 1–2 overnight trips per month (sometimes more)
- 1–2 day trips per month (sometimes more)
This Role Is a Good Fit If You…
• Have solid mechanical fundamentals and basic electrical troubleshooting skills
• Can read schematics, wiring diagrams, and dimensional drawings
• Like working with your hands and getting dirty when needed
• Ask good questions and enjoy learning how systems really work
• Can work independently without constant direction
• Are comfortable interacting with customers in the field
This Role Is Not a Good Fit If You…
• Need constant step-by-step direction
• Prefer repetitive, highly structured work
• Don’t want field work or occasional travel
• Avoid customer interaction
Pay & Benefits
• Starting around $20/hour (depending on experience)
• Overtime potential
• Company vehicle provided for field work
• PTO, health insurance, and standard benefits
Requirements:
• High School diploma or equivalent (Technical school or relevant industry experience is a plus)
• Mechanical aptitude with intermediate electrical circuit troubleshooting
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to pass background checks, drug screening, and required safety training
