Asphalt Field Mechanic

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED) preferred
• Technical or vocational training in diesel mechanics, heavy equipment repair, or a related field is a plus
• 2+ years of experience in asphalt paving or milling equipment maintenance and repair
• Experience working with heavy construction equipment and machinery

• Strong knowledge of
  Caterpillar, Volvo, Weiler and Wirtgen asphalt paving and milling equipment
• Proficiency in diagnosing, troubleshooting, and repairing
  asphalt pavers, milling machines, rollers, and other related machinery
• Expertise in
  hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems specific to paving and milling equipment
• Ability to perform
  welding and fabrication for equipment repairs
• Knowledge of
  diesel and gasoline engine repair and maintenance procedures
• Understanding of
  grading, compaction, and asphalt application techniques

• Must have a CDL (Commercial Driver’s License) (Class A preferred)
• ASE or similar mechanic certifications (optional but beneficial)
• OSHA 10 or 30-hour safety certification preferred
• Forklift and heavy equipment operation certification (if applicable)

• Ability to work in
  extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, dust, and noise)
• Capable of
  lifting 50+ lbs regularly and working in physically demanding conditions
• Comfortable working
  long hours, including weekends and night shifts as needed
• Willingness to
  travel for on-site equipment repairs

• Strong
  problem-solving and analytical skills
• Attention to detail and commitment to quality work
• Ability to
  work independently and as part of a team
• Good
  communication skills for coordinating with operators and supervisors
