Job Description

Schedule initially may include overnight shift 11pm-7:30am but shifts may vary based on business needs. Starting pay will typically fall in $47-49K range.

Job Summary
  • Supervise front line security officers and EMTs on assigned shifts.
  • Adhere to MGC regulations and property internal controls.
Essential Job Functions
  • Responsible for the daily operation of the security department.
  • Determines manpower requirements and schedules personnel to provide maximum-security coverage with minimum labor costs.
  • Maintains and keeps updated list of evicted guests.
  • Administers training programs for assigned personnel that will ensure effective security of gaming and money handling experience.
  • Counsels, guides and instructs personnel on the proper performance of their duties.
  • Performs the function of hiring, training, and developing employee’s skills; reviewing employee’s performance and administering discipline.
  • Directly responsible for all Security activities during each shift and all Security Officers on duty during each shift.
  • Assist the Security Manager with the staffing and training of Security Officers.
  • Responsible for Security policies and procedures as it applies to the approved System of Internal Controls and Missouri Gaming Commission Regulations.

    Overall responsibility for Security personnel on the Casino and Support Facilities in absence of the Security Shift Manager.
  • Safeguard the assets of Harrah’s North Kansas City.
  • Review all Security Incident Reports.
  • Responsible for the escort of Gaming Chips, Tokens, and cash.
  • Responsible for the Soft Count drop (pick-up).
  • Report improper or illegal or suspected improper or illegal acts by a Harrah’s North Kansas City employee to the Security Manager.
  • Assist Main Bankers in pushing the locked NRT carts when replenishing the self-redemption machines.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Ability to uphold and demonstrate the highest level of integrity in all situations and recognize standards required by a regulated business.
  • Must be 21 years of age.
  • Must be able to obtain Missouri Gaming License.
  • Must pass background check and drug test.
  • Must be able to work any day of the week and any shift, including holidays and weekends.
  • Must have excellent customer service/communication skills.
  • Knowledgeable in data entry, read and interpret output from a computer.
  • Must have law enforcement experience, and/or supervisory security experience.
  • Must have strong leadership, supervisory and interpersonal skills.
  • Must have strong oral and written skills with good analytical ability.
Work Environment Requirements
  • Must be able to work independently along with a team mentality.
  • Must be able to work at a fast pace and in stressful situations.
  • Is able to tolerate areas containing second-hand smoke, high noise levels, bright lights and dust.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak and understand English.
  • Must be able to maneuver around office areas, effectively work in high traffic areas and respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Mathematical abilities including addition and subtraction/accurate record keeping strongly required.
  • Must have the dexterity to grip and work necessary items (chips, 10 key adding machine, money bags, computers, money, etc.).
  • Physically mobile with reasonable accommodations.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, reach, kneel, twist and grip items when necessary.
  • Must be able to stand for 8 hours and lift 25 lbs.
  • Excellent vision, including peripheral.
  • Respond to visual and aural cues.
  • Read, write, speak, and understand English.
  • Operate in mentally, and physically stressful situations.
  • Must be able to push or pull up to 150 pounds.
