Business Development
The Director of Business Development is responsible for driving new revenue growth by identifying, securing, and growing shipper relationships for Unlimited Logistics. This role focuses on higher level business development efforts, larger and more complex accounts, and long term customer partnerships across multiple transportation modes.
This position is ideal for an experienced logistics sales professional who understands how to win and retain quality freight, can operate independently, and partners closely with leadership and operations to support sustainable growth.
Responsibilities- Identify, pursue, and secure new shipper accounts that align with company growth goals and service capabilities
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision makers, serving as a trusted point of contact throughout the sales process and beyond
- Lead discovery conversations to understand customer needs and develop tailored transportation solutions across truckload, LTL, refrigerated, and flatbed services
- Own the full sales cycle from prospecting and pricing through negotiation, close, and onboarding
- Focus on higher value and more complex opportunities, including contract freight and strategic accounts
- Work closely with operations and account management teams to ensure smooth handoffs and strong ongoing service
- Track pipeline activity, forecasting, and sales performance using CRM tools
- Provide input on pricing strategy, market opportunities, and sales process improvements as the company grows
- 6 to 10 years of experience in business development, outside sales, or account management within the freight brokerage or logistics industry
- Strong working knowledge of truckload, LTL, refrigerated, and flatbed transportation markets and pricing
- Proven ability to consistently close new business and build long term customer relationships
- Strong communication and negotiation skills with a relationship focused approach
- Self-directed, organized, and comfortable managing a full sales pipeline independently
- Experience using CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent industry experience considered
