Area Sales Manager - Material Handling, Construction, and Agriculture

Summary

Yokohama TWS is seeking an experienced Area Sales Manager for the Midwest region of the United States. The role covers Kansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, and Nebraska, with potential territory expansion. The manager will drive product positioning, market penetration, and growth in the industrial and construction tire market, serving both new and existing customers.

Essential Duties
  • New business development: prospecting, qualifying, selling, and closing.
  • Prepare professional proposals and presentations.
  • Manage the customer relationship throughout the sales cycle.
  • Provide consultative sales solutions to prospects and customers.
  • Conduct one‑on‑one and group sales presentations.
  • Account management and forecasting.
  • Facilitate feedback to product, marketing, and field teams.
  • Work with sales management to ensure accuracy and adherence to pricing policies.
  • Resolve customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and preparing reports.
  • Maintain professional knowledge through workshops, publications, and professional societies.
  • Monitor competition and gather market intelligence.
  • Recommend product and policy changes based on results and competitive developments.
  • Contribute to team efforts and participate in marketing events such as trade shows and seminars.
  • Meet deadlines, work within budgets, and achieve sales targets.
  • Travel continuously as required.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Strong written and verbal communication; ability to build relationships at multiple levels.
  • Excellent presentation and influencing skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Self‑motivated, multitasking, and able to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Existing account management experience and organizational skills.
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing, sales, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience selling premium tire brands.
Supervisory Skills
  • No direct reports for this position.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Proficient in English, both written and verbal, for interactions with co‑workers, supervisors, customers, and suppliers.

Location:
