The Assistant Store Manager will support the Store Manager in areas of sales, customer service, store appearance and store operations. This position will manage the store during the Store Manager’s absence and/or when working opposing shifts. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead the store team members in servicing customers.

Essential Job Functions
  • Lead the store team members in providing excellent customer service to retail and professional customers.
  • Supervise the customer service levels on the retail showroom, ensuring team member execution on customer service programs (Related sales, Hi5, Rock the Call, Never Say No, Rock the Lot, etc…).
  • Work with the store manager to ensure the retail sales counter is adequately staffed, especially during peak retail business hours (lunch, late‑afternoons, evenings, weekends, etc.).
  • Assist the store manager in setting team member goals, providing feedback on goal achievement, coaching/mentoring team members, and ensuring they stay current on their training.
  • Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to ensure the selection of qualified team members.
  • Make sure telephone is answered according to company policy.
  • Ensure all buy online/ship to store, hub and store to store transfers, and DC add orders are processed promptly and customers are notified upon shipment arrivals when needed.
  • Utilize electronic outside purchase order ledger to handle special orders and outside purchases efficiently and according to procedure.
  • Process retail customer returns and exchanges efficiently and friendly; issue refunds accurately using correct payment methods; process or stage returned merchandise in returns area correctly.
  • Ensure all merchandise, including core charges and warranties, is invoiced before product leaves the store.
  • Ensure Zipline messages are communicated, and Image Maker and merchandising tasks are delegated and completed as assigned.
  • Ensure all team members comply with company policies: adhere to posted work schedule, obtain approvals for changes/deviations, and clock in/out accordingly.
  • Perform all store opening/closing duties including day‑end procedures, verifying/securing money/deposits, preparing bank deposits, ensuring security lights are on, locking doors, arming/disarming security alarms, and securing delivery vehicle(s).
  • Assist the store manager in maintaining the store building, parking lot, exterior signage/lighting, computer hardware, in‑store service/test equipment, and delivery vehicles.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Skills, Education, Knowledge, Experience, Abilities

Required:

  • Sales Specialist Training
  • Assistant Manager Certification
  • RSS Certification

Desired:

  • Certified Parts Professional Certification
  • ASE Certification
  • Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired)
