General

This is a full-time position that will report to the Director of Quality, and interacts with the company’s Flight Mechanics, other Quality auditors, Director of Maintenance, and Vice President Maintenance and Engineering. The responsibilities include the day-to-day oversight and review of the Company’s various maintenance tasks and inspections to assure compliance with all FAR requirements and Company GMM requirements. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of all FAR aircraft maintenance requirements and have an attention to detail.

Good communication skills are required, and the successful candidate must be able to exhibit the values and culture of the company while working with flight mechanics and other company team members in a fast paced/dynamic environment.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Participates in the Company's Safety Management System (SMS) in accordance with the responsibilities detailed in the Safety Manual;
  • The performance of inspection functions in accordance with the Maintenance Program, FAA AD,SB or other requirement to ensure aircraft, engines, appliances and components are maintained to a prescribed standard in order to continue the airworthiness;
  • Provides quality control oversight for all maintenance activities;
  • Performs preliminary, in progress, hidden damage and final inspections;
  • Performs special inspections as detailed by the requesting or requiring document;
  • Performs Required Inspection Item (RII) and Buy Back inspections;
  • Performs receiving inspections to ensure the use of legal, conforming and applicable parts and materials;
  • Ensures that inspections and surveillance are performed as required on necessary maintenance actions in order to assure the use of approved data, material, tools, test equipment and that high standards of workmanship are present;
  • Provide guidance and assistance to maintenance personnel in order to train, maintain and enhance compliance to programs, policies and procedures.
  • Conducts daily audits of aircraft work packages including checks/inspections forms, log pages, routines and non-routines, modification orders, etc. to ensure completion, correctness, use of appropriate references to approved data in all entries and forms;
  • Reviews the aircraft and engine logbooks at checks and during accomplishment of any maintenance. At the appropriate, transcribes all pilot reports and deferred maintenance items to the appropriate work forms;
  • Accomplishes and records analysis of audits and reviews of data/information for continuing analysis and surveillance reports as identified by the Director QC/QA;
  • Performs as a “Designated Instructor” in areas and/or on subjects as qualified and approved by the Director QC/QA;
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director QC/QA, Chief Inspector, or Director of Maintenance
Qualifications
  • Must possess a working knowledge or understanding of the duties, responsibilities and authorities defined within this position description.
  • Must Hold a current FAA (Part 65) Mechanic Certificate with an Airframe and Power Plant rating and have held these ratings for at least three (3) years;
  • Have two (2) or more years of maintenance experience on different typesof large airplanes(having 10 or more passenger seats, B767/B777 preferred) with aPart 121aircarrier;
  • Have maintenance experienceonthe category and class ofaircraftas that of the Company, preferably, a background including

    ETOPS;
  • Knowledge of the 14 CFR Parts 21, 43, 91, 121, GMM, Maintenance Programs and the Eastern Airlinesmanualsystem;
  • Good written and oral communication skills;
  • Ability to perform inspections from ladders and manliftplatforms;
  • Ability to multitask and work under pressure in a dynamic environment;
  • Travel will be required
    50-70% of thetime;
  • Must be able to pass a two (2) year drug and alcohol background check, pre-employment drug test, and criminal history records check (CHRC);
  • Must have a valid passport and eligible to work in the United States.
