JOB SUMMARY

This position is located at GEHA Field at Arrowhead Stadium and the Kansas City Chiefs Training Facility Fields in Kansas City, MO. The primary function of this role will be to aid and facilitate the Grounds Crew as needed during the FIFA event season of Summer 2026. This role is part-time and seasonal in nature and should NOT be considered an annual role.

ESSENTIAL

ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Daily Reporting – report to groundskeeper about daily field conditions
  • Preparation – organize and prepare daily tasks such as mowing, fertilizing, spraying, etc.
  • Diagnostic – ability to scout and diagnose common turf disease/pest/mechanical issues.
  • Learning – expected to become more competent in areas such as but not limited to reel science, cultural practices, irrigation repair and knowledge, granular and liquid fertilization
  • Maintain field, practice fields, and landscaping around the stadium.
  • Perform routine department duties such as mowing, trimming, and edging.
  • Perform field set-up, aerating, pest control, painting, irrigating, irrigation repair, weed control, fertilization, fertilizer and sprayer calibration, maintenance, as well as hedge and tree pruning.
  • Perform field prep for concerts, events, Chiefs games, and FIFA match preparations at Arrowhead Stadium.
  • Applying and removing field tarps as directed
  • Painting and marking of all fields as directed and in accordance with NFL Rules
  • Removal and replacement of turf and sod on all fields
  • Safe operation and maintenance of equipment and machinery used in turf management.
  • Additional responsibilities as assigned by Assistant Head Turf Manager.

  • Must be able to lift/carry objects weighing 50+ lbs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., sometimes over shoulder.

  • Complete work off ladders and lifts
EXPECTATIONS
  • Reports to work each day and on time and works extra hours when needed.
  • Must have flexibility of hours to appropriately service FIFA’s mandated task scheduling.
  • Employee must comply with proper safety policies and procedures as required (i.e. when using cleaning chemicals, reporting incidents, etc.)
  • Provides professional attitude and service.
  • The employee must be able to determine the neatness, accuracy and thoroughness of the work assigned.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions with appropriate equipment
  • Must undergo and pass a background check
  • Valid Driver’s License and good driving record required.
