Compensation
  • Pay Range: $35.65 – $47.64/hour; shift differential available for nights/weekends +$4/hr
Position Overview

A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in the Kansas City metro area is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (Charge Nurse) to support an Orthopedic/Neuro Trauma unit on the night shift.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides leadership and clinical oversight during the assigned shift, ensuring safe, high-quality, patient-centered care. This role collaborates closely with nursing leadership to coordinate unit operations, support staff, and optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and oversee unit operations during assigned shifts
  • Assist with admissions, discharges, and patient flow to support efficient throughput
  • Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care in accordance with policies and standards
  • Serve as a clinical and professional resource for nursing staff
  • Promote a patient-first culture and participate in service recovery as needed
  • Support staff engagement initiatives such as rounding and workflow best practices
  • Assist with interviewing, onboarding, coaching, and performance management of staff
  • Support scheduling and staffing decisions aligned with patient acuity and productivity guidelines
  • Assist with inventory control, supplies, and equipment management
Qualifications
  • Current, strong acute care Med-Surg experience required
    • Preference for candidates with recent charge nurse experience OR
    • Minimum of 2 years of current Med-Surg RN experience
  • Registered Nurse (RN) license (active or compact, per state regulations)
  • Graduation from an accredited school of nursing
  • BSN preferred
  • BLS required (within 30 days of start)
  • ACLS required (within 30 days of start)
  • Participation in professional organizations encouraged

Pay Details: $35.65 to $47.64 per hour
