Registered Nurse Circulator

Overview

We are seeking an OR Circulating Registered Nurse (RN), internally referred to as our Operating Room Circulating RN. You will be a part of a close-knit, highly collaborative operating room team that assists with Orthopedics, Podiatry, Gastroenterology, and General Surgeries. The OR Circulating RN is an essential member of the perioperative team, who advocates for patients under anesthesia and/or sedation and the OR RN that conducts an inventory of supplies and equipment used during and after the surgical procedure.

Bonus options: up to $20,000 (Paid out as stipends every 90 days).

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• Prepare the operating room, ensure the cleanliness of the environment, and confirm that all required equipment is functioning properly.
• Assist in preparing the patient for surgery, including verifying identity and surgical site, positioning the patient, and ensuring pre-operative procedures are completed.
• Document pertinent information before, during, and after the surgical procedure for the patient’s medical record (vital signs, medications administered, etc.).
• Maintain a safe and sterile environment in the operating room by adhering to infection control protocols and ensuring proper handling of instruments and equipment.

Education and Work Experience

Before we go any further, we do have some deal-breakers. You must have:

• Current and valid state RN License
• Current BLS (AHA) certificate upon hire and maintain current
• Current ACLS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Current PALS (AHA) certificate 30 days upon hire and maintain current
• Minimum of one year previous Perioperative experience

Additional Qualifications That Are a Plus:

• Certified Nurse OR (CNOR) Certification (AORN)
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
