Job Title: RN Oncology
Location: Kansas City, MO 64111
Contract Type: Travel
Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:45 - 19:15)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
- Years of experience REQ: 2 Years Oncology Experience Required. Previous Charge Experience and Teaching Hospital Experience preferred.
- Certs REQ: BLS & Chemo (ONS/ONCC)
- Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? yes, Regular floating may be required between departments, units and facilities as needed.
Skills REQ: IV Therapy/ Infusions:
Administration of coagulation factors, Antifungals, Antivirals, Blood/Blood product administration, Care and management of ports, Central line blood draw, Central Line/Implanted Line Care, Infusion pump management, Intravenous. Medications:
Antibiotic, Antiemetic, Corticosteroids. Oncologic Emergencies:
Sepsis. Psychosocial Care:
Advanced directives, Patient/Family education and support. Symptom management:
Alteration in skin and mucous membranes, Altered mental status, Constipation/diarrhea, Dysphagia, Edema, Nausea/vomiting, Neuropathy. Professional Knowledge and
Skills:
Chest tube care and management, Colostomy care and management, Foley catheter insertion/management, Isolation Precautions, Neutropenic precautions, Telemetry Interpretation, Telemetry monitoring, Wound care. Pain Management: IV push narcotic agents, Medication tolerance/dependence, assessment, PCA pump management, Transdermal patches. Surgery:
Post surgical care.
