Shift: Nights (7:00 PM - 7:00 AM) | Rotating Weekends
Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 6:1
Compensation & Incentives
- Hourly Pay Range: $35.65 - $47.64 (based on experience; candidates with ~18 years may be considered for top of range)
- Shift Differential: $4/hr for nights and weekends
- Sign-On Bonus: Case by case
- Relocation Assistance: Case by case
A large, high-acuity acute care hospital in Kansas City is seeking an experienced RN Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) to support its Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This Level I Trauma and Stroke Center delivers advanced, patient-centered care across a wide range of medical and surgical specialties and serves as a regional referral hub.
Position Summary
The Clinical Nurse Coordinator (CNC) provides shift-based leadership and coordination of patient care for the Orthopedic / Neuro Trauma unit. This role supports safe staffing, clinical quality, and efficient unit operations while serving as a clinical and professional resource for nursing staff. The CNC works closely with nursing leadership to promote teamwork, staff engagement, and optimal patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Direct, monitor, and evaluate nursing care provided on the unit
- Support patient admissions, discharges, and overall patient throughput
- Collaborate with the nursing leadership team to assess and improve quality of care
- Lead staff engagement initiatives, including hourly rounding and staff rounding
- Provide input and recommendations related to hiring, training, and professional development
- Assist with staffing schedules, labor management, and resource utilization
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels and support equipment and supply management
Experience
- Strong current acute care Registered Nurse experience in a Medical-Surgical setting required
- Charge Nurse experience preferred
- Alternatively, 2+ years of recent Med-Surg RN experience considered
- RN Diploma or Associate Degree in Nursing - Required
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) - Preferred
- Active RN license in the state of practice or valid compact license
- BLS and ACLS required within 30 days of hire
- Participation in professional nursing organizations encouraged
